As mentioned in the previous post I will be showing at the Musée de la Halle St-Pierre, in Paris.
The show will be starting on March 1st and will be up until the 21st. It will be Alex One, los Panos (chicano prison art) and myself.
There will be an event with a live-painting session by me and Alex One, as well as live tattooing by Easy Sacha on the 11, starting at 6:30 pm. The whole thing is organized for the launch of a new quarterly art publication called “Hey!”.
I have the cover and a nice 12 pages interview in the first issue. 144 pages and no ads. Issue #1 will be out on March 11th.

Turfizm: The Selected works of Jean “Turf One” Labourdette, focuses on some of the intricate so-called “pop surrealist” works that reflect Turf’s acute attention to character detail, and an almost playful fascination with life and death. The Sun Shines In: A few days in the studio with Jean Labourdette, is a study of his creative process, offering a quiet look into the studio environment where most of these elaborate works are created over time.
Since moving to Montreal from Paris in 2001, Jean “Turf One” Labourdette has become a quietly revered, internationally known talent, evolving from his grafitti-based roots into a skillful and dedicated multidisciplinary artist, currently concentrating on painting. This book is one of the many collaborations between Turf and writer/ photgrapher Paul Labonte and/or Paul 107, steeped in mutual respect and real friendship.

First show of the year was “A Cry for Help”, held at Thinkspace gallery, in LA (01-08-10 through 02-05-10)
My next show will be at La Halle Saint Pierre museum in Paris, France. I will be showing alongside Parisian artist Alex One and Los Panos (Chicano prison art). The show will run from March 1st until the 21st. There will be an event during which I will be painting live on the 11th, organized for the launch of a new Parisian-based international Art publication : “HEY!”
This will be my first major exhibition in France since 1998 so I am very excited to show in my hometown again 12 years later !

I will then take part in a group show untitled New Brow 3, opening on April 9 at The Alternative Cafe, Seaside, California
…And last but not least, I am very excited and honored to announce that I will be ending the year with a major solo show at the prestigious Jonathan LeVine gallery in NYC. December 11 thru January 8, 2011

I had the wonderful surprise to come across Shawn Barber s new piece : this portrait of me that he did as a part of his tattooed portraits series. It was being shown at Joshua Liner s booth at Scope.
